New Toshiba Built-in IH Cooking Heaters

Toshiba continue their line of IH cooking heaters with new models “BHP-V731S” and “BHP-V631S”. New models differs only in size, the first one is 75cm wide and the second one is 60cm wide. The heaters have 140-270 degrees range with 10 degrees step control. The top plate features a new look by changing the hue angle. The left and right heaters are equipped with infrared sensors, in addition to the traditional fried, they can adjust the temperature of the stir-fry cooking at high temperatures. Central heater is 1.8kW when side heaters both have 3.0kW heating. The built-in grill also has hi-tech sensors. It could test if presence or absence of water in the pan and choose program accordingly. [Toshiba]

New Ele?trolux pure white, illuminated cooktop encases induction technology for cooking. It is using electromagnetic fields to transfer energy to the cooking pot, which then converts, into heat. The heat is generated at the base of the pan, not by a heating element. In effect, this turns the pan itself into a hot plate and removes a significant amount of radiant heat from the cooktop surface.

The design of the cooktop is quite unique. It’s idea is to be beautiful to fits in any cross-over room that blur the distinction between kitchen and living area. The LED perimeter lighting adds drama when using the product. The surface of the cooktop is made from white patterned ceramic glass which utilizes easy-to-use touch controls.

Electrolux Aurora is an example of taking existing functionality (in this case, induction cooking), and through design creating a unique product that strongly embodies the Electrolux Brand values. The cooktop received an Australian Design Mark. Although the price for such piece of art isn’t very cheap. It will cost something around $10000

AIDA 2009 Submissions Highlights

The Australian International Design Awards is Australia?s most prestigious and diverse design awards program. It’s opened for all professional products which are available for sale in Australia or designed by Australians.

There are a lot of good works in this year entries. I wanna highlight some that I found the most interesting ones related to our beloved homes. Mostly I’m pretty impressed by this year kitchen appliances. There are a lot of good products by Miele, Simens, De?Longhi, Electrolux and other great brands.

The Siemens liftMatic is a revolutionary wall-mounted oven with a built-in lift. The lift allows access to the food from three sides, without doors or handles. The oven also heats more efficiently than traditional ovens, as rising heat remains trapped within the oven. In my opinion the idea is great because it makes using of wall-mounted oven experience much more comfortable.

Auto switching off system, LCD monitor with remote control, touch screen commands, automatic adjusting in accordance with the quantity of heat from the cooking are the things that pick it out other kitchen hoods. It of course have a great minimalistic and thanks to LCD quite unique design.
